Posted: 27 Oct 2019 11:58 PM PDT Flying the Shrike in Sector 6, I encountered a rebel fighter. I did the usual, sending my A team of Lanii over to Shields, Mind Controlling the reb, then heading over to the Medbay. Meanwhile, they sent two rebel boarders, and my B team of Mantises, acting as security, went to handle them. My weapons shot at theirs. After the 2nd volley, they offered surrender. I moved my mouse to refuse. Wait, what?! Everything stopped. Apparently, I had moved the cursor just a little too far and accepted the surrender. The "Relationship: Neutral" confirmed. Dammit! One very wounded rebel was still in the Medbay with my Lanii. I waited to see if he would die. When he did, I sent the Lanii around the ship to attend to the other wounded rebels. After all, since I had destroyed their Medbay, it was the least I could do. [link] [comments]
What's your folks' headcannon for how long the game takes place? Posted: 27 Oct 2019 01:52 PM PDT I don't mean how long it takes you to do a run. I'm talking about the in-universe timeframe. I don't know if there's any canon information regarding this, if there is please let me know. Personally, I like to think that the game takes place in mere hours. There's something really epic to me about the thought of a lone ship racing across the galaxy; the last hope of the Federation and the only chance of stopping the Rebellion. [link] [comments]

Tips for winning with a Mantis cruiser? Posted: 27 Oct 2019 09:39 AM PDT I started playing FTL recently and have been having a great time. I'm currently trying to unlock as many ships and layouts as I can and have hit a ridiculous brick wall. I've been playing on Normal AE enabled and have doing pretty well for myself. I've been unlocking every ship by beating the flagship with the previous and have been able to do so in only a couple attempts with every ship. Right now I am trying to unlock the Slug cruiser and I am at a complete loss for what I should be doing with the Mantis ships. I've done close to 30 runs across the entire weekend on Easy and I've seen the Flagship twice. I've literally doubled my playtime on this one cruiser and it's driving me a bit mad. Does anyone have any build tips or tips on what to prioritize to get as OP as possible? I have layout A and B unlocked but haven't really been able to nail down which one is the best. B obviously has great boarding but you're screwed in a lot of early game scenarios. [link] [comments]
Advice request: 0 damage RFS with Engi B on hard Posted: 27 Oct 2019 07:43 AM PDT After a couple of horrible runs with the Vortex, I got some insane luck in this run and beat phases 1 and 2 of the RFS with this loadout: https://imgur.com/a/FeSa6eu (the Pre-Igniter was a quest reward and the ion charger was a battle reward) Now i think there is a decent shot at beating phase 3 of the RFS without taking any damage as well, but I am interested what the optimal weapon loadout (of the 5 available ones) and upgrade choices (122 scrap to work with) as well as associated strategies would be. (a volley on an unshielded RFS with the glaive and halberd deals 20 damage and should be able to oneshot phase 3 when the shields are down (via hacking); so the main point of contention would be how best to remove the zoltan shield (sven maneuver with flak or ion charger or taking the heavy laser); Also the entire enemy crew is probably still alive (I have no sensors)) Here are the available upgrades: https://imgur.com/a/n8NWVMh [link] [comments] |
