    What’s your favourite “that’s FTL” moment?

    I've taken to describing any sudden, unexpected (and inevitably negative) reversals of fortune in the game as "that's FTL" moments... because let's face it, that really is the essence of FTL.

    Take my last run, for instance. Kestrel A, going great, in sector 4 with nearly full hull, a good crew, great weapons, lots of scrap (saving for a cloak), the works. I'm winning every fight I get into with ease.

    Suddenly, I jump to a pulsar. Enemy ship has an Artemis, a BL1, and a Mini Beam, plus mind control, so I don't expect much...

    ...until the pulsar hits. Weapons and engines get completely disabled by ion. First Artemis takes down my shields, and then all three of the enemy ship's weapons start fires as soon as they hit. Meanwhile the enemy ship has lost its clone bay and shields, but not like either of those matter if I can't shoot back!

    This pattern repeats itself with every new pulse, and I watch in horror as (in the span of a single sector) my run goes from hero to zero. I didn't even feel that bad about it, I was really just impressed at how quickly I'd been screwed.

    Could I have avoided this if I had specced harder into engines? Possibly. But knowing my luck, probably not.

    Because hey, that's FTL.

    Cloak needed for last battle?

    Only been playing for 2 weeks now. Was having issues winning boss fight with kestrel and federation ship. Then finally tried using cloak. Win with both of them today. Fight was way easier!

    So, is cloak kind of a requirement? What other ways can I beat the boss without cloak?

    So, now that I have all 28 ships, I want to attempt a meme run: double glaive and weapon pre-igniter. The plan is simple: I choose Stealth B for its starting Glaive, and pray to RN-Jesus that I can find a weapon pre-igniter and a second Glaive beam. On the way I will pick up shields, hacking and drone control. I've found searching through Engi territory brings me the best results, so I'll be scouring there. Wish me luck y'all. I'll be keeping you updated on attempts that are somewhat successful

    Having what can only be described as a perfect run with my Shrike. A little luck on dodge and I'll be finishing the flagship with zero damage.

    So is this a bug or just strange luck? every single weapon/drone I have found since I started are all 3 power bars as of sector 4.

    Hello Captains!

    I've been playing CE for a few years now. After a short hiatus, I feel the call again and upon inspecting the mod list, I realize there are mods for mods now!

    However, it's hard to figure out what actually fits together. What do you recommend I enhance CE with or are there any other, similar mods out there?
