    Tips for a Newbie?

    So, while I try to learn FTL- I have realized that I can't -just- be a dumbass. I have to be a tactical dumbass.

    With that being said, I could use some help figuring out what ships I should use and what loadouts go well for what. Right now, I have Kestral, Torus, Vortex, Osprey and Bulwark ships. I don't seem to have a common strat beyond my sadistic desire to reverse gas my opponents

    Namely by destroying any medical bays and then proceeding to destroy their O2 so that they all die a slow and miserable death, while I cackle at their suffering.

    Any tactics that may be better for or aside from this?

    Afte 16 hours and 31 plays, i manage to beat the game on easy with the engi ship A. I love this game. After this run i manage to pass the game with the Federation Cruiser A on my first run.

    I've seen a lot of people go clonebay, but is it worth buying a clonebay when your ship starts with medbay?

    I need help too unlock the federation cruiser!

    I know this game has been out for soo long and I'm sure this has been asked many times or maybe I'm just dumb and can't figure it out but I can't unlock the federation cruiser.

    I only have 10 hours in this game on steam so maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't seem to unlock the third ship the federation cruiser. I've googled it and looked at different sites but I just can't seem to figure it out. Maybe I'm just dumb but please help.

    I've done many runs with the Engi cruiser and I've made it to the final sector but I lost in the first fight so I don't think that's happening. I've also gone looking for the Rebel Stronghold sector. I've done about 10 ten runs and made it too the final sector in about eight of them so I don't know what to do.

    Also is there a way to do it with the Kestrel Cruiser?

    If you have a tip or trick or maybe I'm doing something wrong please let me know. :)

    edit: I was wondering if it would help if I disable advanced edition content?

    Losing a lot of people to red clone bays

    I play Rock C a lot (like to venture to the crystal sector). Seems like the clone bay is quite vulnerable. Only room for 1 to repair. Get hit with a boarding drone and it's hard to save it. Same with fire or even unlucky shots from an enemy ship.

    DNA banks fix this issue but of course you can't rely on that augment. I don't see it too often.

    Any tips on preventing clone bay deaths? Does upgrading to L2 prevent most deaths? I'd think a lot of ship fire could still take it to red pretty quickly.
