- Am I going to lose? Flagship cloaks so I can’t fire, then as soon as they uncloak they hack my weapons. Charge time is so long that I literally can’t fire my weapons anymore because I’m hacked when they’re uncloaked, and they’re cloaked when my weapons should be charging. More info in comment.

Posted: 29 Sep 2020 12:19 PM PDT Captain, I have an issue with the third stage of Rebel's Flagship, their Superweapon is.. simply too powerful! Requesting advice! Log: Roxterat [link] [comments]
Zoltan A is WAY better than Zoltan B Posted: 29 Sep 2020 04:12 PM PDT I've played FTL for about 100 hours now, and I have wins with all ships in normal and a few in hard. Whenever I see Zoltan B at the top of a tier list, or above Zoltan A, I sigh. I just want to state my case for why Zoltan B is overrated and not nearly as good as Zoltan A. For one, there is no chance it's better than Zoltan A. The halberd beam single-handily makes Zoltan A better in weapons for being part of the holy trinity. The 100 scrap penalty for shields means it'll be a while (at least 1 sector) before you even get 1 layer of shields. If your Zoltan shield goes down, you're about to take heavy damage. Attack drones or environmental hazards will vaporize your Zoltan shield, then your hull. Zoltan A has none of these problems. It's a top-5 ship overall with great weapons, and possibly the best augment in the game. Zoltan B is a good ship. It is just massively overrated and sucks balls compared to Zoltan A. Thoughts? Edit: I forgot about Zoltan B's venting. Not only is there only 1 airlock on the entire left side of the ship, it happens to go straight through the doors room. This makes venting out intruders significantly harder than on Zoltan A, which starts with level 2 doors. [link] [comments]
Blue Piloting Option in Ion Storm Nebula Posted: 29 Sep 2020 10:04 PM PDT It seems I always get a weapon with the manually search option (okay.. sometimes lose crew). But sometimes I'll invest in piloting just for nebulas heavy sectors and the blue option seems to yield nothing more often than not. At least something HAPPENS with the Manually search. Which option do you guys prefer? [link] [comments]
Imagine if flagship designs were randomised Posted: 29 Sep 2020 02:53 PM PDT 6/9 equally difficult flagship designs (to go along with the current 3, so two 1st form, two 2nd form, two third form) And maybe chuck in a bit of random as well. I don't care if this is hard to make in reality I just like to imagine how to cause the maximum amount of pain [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Sep 2020 08:50 AM PDT How does the pursuit mechanic on the sector jump screen work, as in, is there a way to determine how much ground they'll get on each jump? Many times now I've been like, "ok, it looks like I should have 3 turns to get to the exit" and then the rebels get there in 2. Or vice versa, "looks like I only have 2 turns" and it takes them 3, so I waste an encounter. Is there a way to determine this ahead of time or is it just an eyeball guess? Flak cannons - do they work better on 2x2 square rooms/large clumps of rooms together, versus an isolated 1x2 room? It seems like they do but I don't have concrete data to back that up.
