    Beating the flagship early?

Noob here, on a recent playthrough I came across a beacon that had a scrapyard or mining site (can't quite remember) but the initial text when arriving was something about the construction of a large ship, which I now know to be the endgame boss the flagship. I decided to explore the area and lo and behold, the biggest most intimidating ship I'd ever seen so far, and I only started the run maybe 10 minutes prior. I immediately jumped away for dear of losing the fight, so I don't know what would happen if I had beaten it. It's interesting that you have the opportunity to fight the final boss before you're "supposed to". What would have happened if I had stayed and fought? Was there a chance of winning? If I had won, would it affect the end game fight in any way?

    Favourite graphical mods?

I am looking for some mods that don't make this game easier and they change graphics (shields, HUD). What are you favourite?

    Lost All of my Progress

I Finally unlocked the crystal cruiser, but I opened the game and all of my ships are gone. Is there any way to load an older save state or somthing?

    FTL mods?

I feel like this game lacks a little variety, at least in term of play style.

You have ships and weapons that are objectively better than others, the enemy encounters get old after a while, get sick of fighting the same final boss, etc.

Are there any great mods that either make the ships and weapons more balanced to each other or mods that expand the entire game?
