What happens if the hard mode smart targeting list is empty?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 08:38 PM PST

Suppose I'm playing Kestrel A on hard mode, my shields are off, my weapons are off, and the O2 is above 50%. What happens if the enemy tries to target from the smart targeting list? Does it roll over to random rooms, or to random systems? Has anyone tested this?

Just had an interesting little find

Did you know that you can prevent repair progress from being reset if your repair person is mind controlled?

If you use your own mind control on the same frame that the enemy uses its mind control, the repair progress isn't reset. I wonder if this has other applications?

    Tips on winning a run?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 09:16 PM PST

Just started to play FTL again because I remembered how fun it was, but was soon thrust back into the nightmare that is the flagship.

I remember last time I played I got so fed up trying to unlock crystal B that I just modded it into the game to see what the hype was about and to experiment with other ships, but with that being said, even with Crystal B, Lanius B, Mantis B, etc., I'm still having a ton of trouble beating the game, even on easy.

Whats seems to work consistently for me is boarding with good ships, but the last part of the flagship fight is so much of a fuck you to boarding builts its infuriating, like why does it gotta have a regenerating Zoltan shield and then a fuckton of lasers? My last run I had Lanius B with cloaking, a maxxed engi virus, 2 flak guns, everything i needed, and I still got fucked in the end.

Is there something I should be focusing on during my runs? Am I doing something wrong for the fight? I just wanna get your guys opinions on how you handle the fight. Thanks!
