    Did an ENTIRE, TOTAL, JAW-DROPPING, EARTH-SHATTERING, ASTOUNDING, STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN-APPROVED, DEVASTATING...

    one damage.

    And then I got hacked and eventually obliterated in a fantastic cosmic display of obliteration and Federation-themed fireworks.

    I love inside jokes in games, but this one is flying over my head.

    Is it relating to the event where the people need help killing them or whatever? Why do people say "not to fuck with them?". I've never had problems with them, so is it sarcasm?

    I beat the game with the first ship on easy and thought I'd try some mods. I tried Captains Edition and it was okay. Really Hard. Thought about trying A Strange New Galaxy but is it any good?

    Boarding enemy pilotting reduces evasion by?

    So im kinda stuck in my kerstel A run pre-AE where i have a boarding crew of a rock n crystal, 2 burst laser and a fire bomb/heal bomb. Normally if i burst down the weapon with lasers, i can drop their weapon to just 1/2 and take minimal damage. But when they all miss, im taking heaps of damage. So if i teleport to their pilotting, how much evasion am i taking off? I can lockdown the pilotting room n kill the crew but i still take the first volley. Also sometimes i use firebomb but if it misses im also in trouble. Not very good with the heal bomb yet either.

    Hello everyone.

    I just got FTL a couple of weeks ago and it's already become one of my favorite games of all time. I've put in over 60 hours and just now managed to beat the game for the second time and something really strange happened.

    I'd unlocked the A,B,C variants for the Human, Engi, and Zolton, and the A variant for Stealth. I was playing through as a Zolton C. After I beat the Flagship I got a message that I'd unlocked the Lanius ship. I thought "Great! I wonder how I did that!". I checked the wiki and I'd unlocked it by having four other ships unlocked besides the Kestrel. That didn't make any sense because I only had the Engi, Zolton, and Stealth.

    I checked the Hanger and I now had The Gila Monster, which then also unlocked the Lanius. The problem is I never did the quest to unlock it. I've read the Wiki and I didn't do any of the requirements. I had a level 1 teleporter and a level 2 clone bay. The wiki says it requires a level 3 clone bay. I had a Mantis on my crew and killed plenty of ships by boarding and killing the crew, but I never encountered KazaaakplethKilik or had him on my crew. I never went through the dialog or had my Mantis do a strange dance or anything.

    I've googled this but came up empty. Has anyone here heard about this happening? I'm running the vanilla Steam Version 1.6.12. I've never modded the game in any way.

    What if Engi and Federation cruisers switched places?

    I personally think that the progression would make a lot more sense if The Engi cruiser and the Federation cruiser switched places.

    Here are the things that would change:

    • A victory with the standard cruiser would unlock the federation cruiser (instead of nothing because the Engi cruiser is unlocked before you can even get to the flagship).
    • A victory with the Engi cruiser would unlock the Zoltan cruiser, instead of The Federation cruiser.

    This woud not only make more sense gameplay wise, (since it encourages beating the game with the standard cruiser) but also lore wise. It would only make sense that the federation would award the captain of the ship that saved them with a newer, better ship.

    All ships completed on easy

    I've not managed to unlock any layout B ships yet though. On to normal.

    After a series of awfully unlucky runs with the crystal ship I got pretty lucky with RNG on my stealth run. Weapon pre-igniter was letting me smash my way through anything I needed to.

    I' m looking for advices and guideline to unlock the Crystal ship. I' m new to this game I started playing 5 days ago but i' m too much addicted and I want this beauty to be unlocked, thanks for your time.

    Been playing for about 16 hours and while I'm loving the game I want to looking to mods but have many questions.

    First: what is a very balanced FTL experience that can be achieved with mods. Mods that offer more depth and fun without making me or the enemy's unrelentingly powerful. Big concern if making the learning curve I love go away. Second: I've got the mod manager. Are there any mods that are unsafe to download or have installed. Red flags to stay from. Third: What are y'all's favorite mods and why?
