The stealth A, being winnable 70% of the time... with bad RNG is it true ? All of it ? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:55 AM PST So I'm diving back in the game, warming up in normal difficulty to get back the handle on all ships. I've had no problem winning immediatly or often with Kestrel A, Fed A, Engi A and Zoltan A. But now, I'm stuck on the Steath A. I never win against Phase 2 or 3 of the Flagship. Most of the time I get there though, but facing the flagship I always get overwelmed by boarding, supershield, stray missiles or surges. I keep notes of previous victories, and last times I won with Stealth A, I had Flak II x 2 or Flak II + Glaive. Wich are more or less the loadouts the Stealth A is meant for. But since I've restarted to play Stealth A, I quite never find two "big guns" like Flaks II or Glaive. I've always had to settle with smaller guns, sometimes keeping the mini beam and dual laser up to the endgame with a mere BL2 or charge laser at the most to complete them. I lost badly a good run with Halberd, dual laser and charge laser, but I feel that's on me. TLDR: I never find an optimal loadout for the stealth A. I have bad luck in stores and loot. So my question is, how and when do you build a suboptimal or less classic loadout with this ship so as to win despite bad luck ? Do you have in mind some recorded runs where the player never got Flak II nor Glaive or more than one BL2 and still won ? What is your strategy to deal with bad RNG with this ship ? Posted: 24 Feb 2020 12:37 PM PST So I've been playing FTL since 2014, and I've long-since reached the point where I don't consider sensors an essential system more than they are a convenience. For a long time I've felt that level 1 and level 2 sensors are the most useful, as being able to more conveniently and accurately keep track of crew and hazards on both ships was a pretty nice perk of having them, however, non essential when you have good game sense and can use various clues such as sounds, door movement and other more situational things to keep track of what's happening. On the higher end of sensors, I do still consider level 3 sensors to be practically useless, as you can track weapon charge reasonably well just by watching the weapons. If you're unaware: Most weapons have a gradual animation as they charge up; usually by seeing how bright a weapon is glowing or, more obviously, how many pips are lit up on some lasers, you can gauge how close a weapon is to firing. This renders the perk of level 3 sensors mostly useless in my eyes. Finally at max level, that is, level 3 and manned, you get to see enemy power usage. I thought this was completely pointless until a more recent run where I was ahead enough to max them out, and I found a pretty interesting application for the information in the final moments of the run. It allows you to spot systems that can be destroyed in one hit, which, when paired with a beam weapon (and possibly other types of weapons), can be used to destroy multiple systems in one volley, forcing the AI to scatter to repair them all and putting the enemy crew under a ton of pressure. This was definitely just icing on the cake of an already good run, and I don't know if I'd say it makes it worth going out of your way to max sensors, but it's something I'd like to experiment with and take into consideration during future runs. I'm mostly curious to see if and what kind of discussion this brings up! [link] [comments]
Stealth C didn't unlock......? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:16 AM PST Playing on iOS...beat the game with Stealth A, just beat it with Stealth B and unlocked the final achievement...but Stealth C is still locked? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Feb 2020 01:17 PM PST Do i need a mantis to get the ship, or can i just board and kill the crew without doing the blue option? [link] [comments]

Is it me, or is Lanius A complete trash? Posted: 24 Feb 2020 05:08 AM PST I don't know if I just get the worst possible RNG every fucking time I use this ship (about 10 tries) but I've never made it past sector 5 or 6. So many contradictory strats out there and like...none of which seem possible unless you can pull 1,000 scrap out your ass within the first two sectors. [link] [comments]
