    [DEV] FTL - Very Minor Steam Patch

    The Steam Achievements update a couple weeks ago had a problem that prevented the game from launching for some users. This has been fixed and a patch has been released that should fix it for anyone still experiencing problems. Sorry about the troubles everyone!

    Ridiculous Lanius Strategy

    Sadly, I forgot to take a screenshot of this OP strategy. Was too wrapped up in winning.

    So, I was playing Lanius A, and around S2 I got a teleporter so I could do hacking + Lanius boarding. A couple jumps later, a Stun Bomb dropped into my lap. I guess you can see where this is heading... My strategy then was to hack a large room, send my Lanius in. I would then depower the hacking module, allowing up to 4 enemies into the room - which is now out of oxygen. Stun bomb targets the room, and everyone suffocates while stunned, and my Lanius sit there taking no damage. I often didn't even need to take out the medbay.

    Chatting about my first win with Crystal B.

    Everyone says crystal B is one of the top ships, so I spent a lot of time recently grinding through Rock C & eventually getting crystal A + B. Obviously having crystal crew, teleporter, cloaking, etc., the ship starts out really well.

    Boarding seems really slow? I've played other boarding ships (Mantis on easy) before. My main boarding party was 2 crystal + 1 mantis. 3v1, they seemed to take a bit to chew through the crew member and then the enemy ship system. And that's assuming I've hit the two lockdowns back to back.

    I was fortunate enough to get 2 lanius, and they were super, super amazing. Unmanned ships were manageable. The lanius shined in securing key enemy rooms (clone bay) because who can fight two lanius? Nobody!

    On the flip side, I had to manage my crew carefully around the lanius. Mixing & matching the boarding parties in the same room wouldn't work well since my main party could suffocate.

    I had a hard time acquiring useful weapons until the end of the game. So I mostly boarded and only used my guns on the rebel flagship.

    I realize this is only normal and I'm a noob, but I wanted this ship to be more overpowered? Boarding is great for maximizing scrap, but it feels very slow compared to having a maxed out system of guns that let you chew through their shields and then everything else in a few moments.

    Are there any strategies I should know about Zoltan A?

    I think I must be doing something wrong, cause I'm playing with the Zoltan A, one of the best ships in the game, and I haven't won with it after about 8 hours of playing. I usually use hacking, battery, cloaking, and mind control. Are there any good strategies for the Zoltan A?

    In the sector map how do you decide which sectors to travel to between civilian, hostile and nebula?

    What's the difference? Any easier or harder? Some give better rewards?

    I'm never able to beat the flagship as mantis. I usually go some sort of boarding build which seems to be really bad so that's probably part of my problem. I think my micro is pretty bad too. If you guys have any tips that would be great. Not sure what to prioritize for systems or what to look for for weapons/defense. Thanks!

    I'm vaguely aware of a quest that involves a status pod and the Rock sector, but I got the Crystal ship last night without doing any of that.

    I completed the quest for the Stealth ship, IIRC you follow a quest marker, get two more where you fight and interrogate two Rebel ships, etc.

    So then I got the Stealth ship, something to try much later when I'm much better at the game. But also, I got the Crystal ship. Right there in the hangar, I took it out and had a go with it too.

    Did I remember the quest incorrectly?
