Posted: 29 Feb 2020 02:07 PM PST When the enemy ship has an ion weapon paired with a beam or a laser, they generally don't time their shots very well but every few rotations it just happens. So if you can see that coming, you can power down your shields, let the ion shot through, and as soon as the shot is at the shield line, power them back on to block the other weapon. It might still hit the shields room - I don't know if the difficulty affects enemy's targeting practices but I was playing on normal last time and when I let the ion shot through, it hit a systemless room. I'm sure others have already discovered this trick but after hundreds of hours of play, I just found it myself and wanted to share it because y'all have taught me some valuable stuff about what I was doing wrong. Posted: 29 Feb 2020 02:06 PM PST Playing rock A? All you get is drones and gunships with too few rooms fod the hull missle to work. Playing stealth B? Well nothing but asteroid fields and drones. What is everyone's cut-off health number where you decide to just take the minor skill hit and airlock your guys so they come out full health before the next jump? Do ya'll do this or am I a monster? Any bug fix to suddenly mission unlocked ships? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:31 AM PST I was doing a run with the mantis ship and it was going very well. I'd managed to reach the final stand but got stuck in a loop against the flagship where neither of us could kill each other, head off to repair to get missiles, base gets destroyed, game over. During this run I'd hit the achievement to unlock layout b. When I exit to the hanger, b is unlocked as it should be but layout a has locked itself again, same has happened to A for the engi despite that I've got layout B secured for that and I've also lost my unlock for the stealth ship. Is there a fix to this? I wouldn't even mind backtracking if there are some backup saves to go to somewhere. Unlocking 1 but losing 3 kinda sucks. :l [link] [comments] | ||
