    After the death of his comrades Bomfy did not give up, he had somehow survived two sectors, he only had the delivery of data to the Federation at mind.

    Alas, 'Man does not attain all his heart's desires for the winds do not blow as the vessels wish.'

    At this moment, it all came crashing down. He remembered his parents crying as he left his home planet to serve at the Federation, he remembered his wide smile as he looked at himself in uniform for the first time, he remembered his brothers in arms celebrating the Federations founding day, he remembered how his captain and how she always teased him for hoarding yogurt, he remembered her warm smile.

    Then... everything was gone. His home planet blown to smithereens, his uniform now tattered from the chase, his brothers gone, his captain... Ashley dead and now he is alone, helpless, lying in the cold airless Medical Bay, his life hanging by a thin thread, knowing that it's now his time. That he had Failed his Duty.

    Past two years playing and this is my very first victory against the Rebel flagship... and it was easy as breath. That's what a weapon preigniter can do.

    Hi I'm not exactly new to the game but I feel like I'm lacking something.

    I'm decent at the game and have gotten close to beating the flagship on easy several times (yes I know I'm a noob) and I'm wondering, what am I missing, of anything? I play really often and I genuinely like the game but can't beat the game because of probably something I don't pay attention to.

    I use the method of grinding the skills of crew members as soon as I have the chance and I think I'm well balanced with how I spend my scrap and try to adapt to what weapons I find/buy throughout the game.

    Am I missing any major skills that anyone should know? Or is it my luck didn't last long enough?

    Edit: Everyone is asking about more specifics, so here.

    Yes, I do in fact use pausing really often. I learned right off the bat that it's a lifesaver.

    I usually try to get a decent evasion and have at least two shields by the first sector. I plan try to plan out my routes so I can explore much as possible, sometimes leading into having to flee a rebel ship at the exit. I usually aim for the nebula in places where they are so I can explore more. Probably 2/all my fights I usually jump away out of every single game, usually from escaping the rebel pursuit.

    The crew I prefer are engi, mantis and rock because they all mostly cover each other's flaws. When I have mantis I usually try to get at least one rock for in the case there is a hypnosis system on the enemy.

    I only have the engi cruiser A, B and C and the kestrel A and B. My preferred ship right now is the engi cruiser type A, and I try to get two combat drones (2 mark 1's or possibly one of either) and a defense (mark 2 if I can) and weapons I usually keep the ion and try to get a flak or a missile kind weapon.

    If anyone needs anymore specifics please don't hesitate to tell me!

    i dont know if im allowed to or not but i wanted to back up my save form this game so i can try different paths or attacks however the save files are not in the file containing the game

    I was trying to get the Crystal ship when I was in rock home worlds the last beacon expect exit was the one we're I reactivated the crystal shop and then in the hidden crystal sector when I also got the Lanius ship like wow
