- Kay, wtf, the game is making things too easy (but also not giving me stores!!!). What’s the most offensive loadout you can make from this? What’s the most practical? I’d like to hear your answers.

- First win on easy, taken after the first fight, only had 1 drone part after the second fight but pulled through, so happy!
- First time making it to Flagship with Rock A. How's my setup?
- So i got inspired and decided to make my own ftl comic. (to be continued)
- I should probably move up to normal/hard difficulty
- Slug B on hard mode. God I hate this ship. It took about 50 tries including rage restarts in sector 1, but I finally got a run where I ended up super OP and breezed through.
- Might've been posted here already but saw this on r/gaming, thought it looked a lot like the Engi

Enemy missiles -- how are you supposed to deal with them? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 02:53 PM PDT How the hell are you supposed to deal with enemy missiles? 90% of my runs are ended by them, either on the flagship or before it, and I'm at my wit's end. They start showing up in Sector 1 and already they're faster than anything I have on my ship (starting Kestrel for now, this is on Normal). Then the heavy ones show up just at the point where the ships also have enough shields to make them faster than I can break the shields. They do virtually unblockable damage -- the paltry 20% evasion you have at the start is not enough to block them in the beginning, the 30%-ish evasion in the middle is not enough to block them, and even the 45%-50% evasion in the endgame is not enough to block enough missiles to make a difference, because one shot that goes through can and will ruin you via heavy damage, fire, and/or a breach, often all at once. Zoltan shield/weapon pre-igniter are nice but rare. Targeting weapons first works fine until the enemy has 2 and then 3 and then 4 shields, in which case literally the only thing that is going to stop that missile is another missile (very finite quantity, blocked by defense drones/zoltan shields), hacking (finite quantity, blocked by defense drones/zoltan shields). Boarding/mind control damage are way, way, way too slow to take out a missile launcher in any reasonable amount of times. A defense drone and drone control system costs about 100 scrap, which is very expensive when trying to upgrade other things as well, is also constrained by a finite quantity, and never works as well as I want it to. And even if the enemy has no shielding whatsoever you are guaranteed to take at least one hit, which, see above. [link] [comments] |
