I have only just now discovered this game. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:29 PM PDT Holy crap. I can't stop folks. This game is amazeballs. Even if it's just that damn music that plays over and over daring me to play more. I've played so many games in my generation x life and this game takes the addiction cake just after FFIII back in the day. I'm no good mind you and I refuse to look up guides but wow, the creators really nailed this one. I know I'm so late to the party that maybe five people read this but seriously, wow. After maybe 20 hours of play I've come to the realization that I can't anything better than the Burst Lazer II and bombs. Anyway, thanks for reading [link] [comments]

Tips for distancing oneself from only using boarding tactics. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 12:56 PM PDT Sorry for a potentially confusing title. Essentially, I've improved in the game a lot through the usual trial and error, but I've become pretty dependent on boarding strategies. They're really fun, and in a lot of ways easier to manage (more scrap, less reliance on supplies/weapon accuracy, less hindrance from strong ships). So far I beat the game 3 times in the last year, twice on easy, once on normal. Last two were with the bastelic (spelling, the mantis B ship), and my first victory was Zoltan C with a boarding strategy also. So, I'm trying to transition away from this, but I've had some difficulty. I got the the flagship with federation A, but on easy. I'm fully transitioned to normal difficulty, but it's tough adjusting to a normal strategy of using weapons only. Some things I've struggled with: When to buy weapons, or if I should just rely on weapon drops. I know flak weapons are almost always worth it, but I usually shy away from big beam weapons. Even if they're powerful, I can never reliably get shields down enough to have them be worth it. Also I rely heavily on drones, especially for defense. I always emphasize good engines for dodge, but without a defense drone missiles kill me. So yeah this was a lot of rambling, I know the basics, but what are suggestions, if any, from getting away from boarding only? [link] [comments]
