- Y’all getting a clear signal? Fantastic!
- Think I'm gonna die, every time
- About to face the flagship on hard mode, any advice on what to buy or do (besides reactor upgrades)?
- Possibly my unluckiest start ever. First two jumps on Mantis C each had a Zoltan ship, the second one near a sun.
- Hoping to develop a mod.
- What's your top score, modded and/or vanilla? I just got this from an overpowered run (Arsenal+ ship pack 3, A- difficulty)
- Finally got my first Stealth victory.
- How to increase score

Posted: 01 Sep 2020 05:34 PM PDT Hi everyone, I recently picked up a fancy Steelseries keyboard and mouse and I'm hoping to develop a gamesense mod to have the LED lighting respond to in-game events in real time. I've roamed around the forums without too much luck, I have slipstream and set it up, but that is as far as I've gotten. Unfortunatly, Gamesense SDK doesnt have a whole lot of support/tutorials. Here is a link to the github for the SDK: https://github.com/SteelSeries/gamesense-sdk. They do provide documentation, but its fairly narrow when it comes to developing. I've never developed a mod, but this seems fairly straight forward, i just don't understand what exactly i need to introduce to the game files. From what i can tell, I would introduce some kind of mod file with JSON which would call out to the gamesense core file(part of the SteelSeries Engine 3, SSE3), the mod file would post in-game data out via HTTP protocol and the SSE3 would handle it from there. I need help getting it started, A file that just makes my keyboard go blank or something to show the file is being seen and data being sent, after that i can stumble through the rest. Can anyone help me out? If you need some more info, drop a comment and ill do my best with details. I see all the dots i need to connect, i just don't know how to connect them. Thanks. UPDATE: Some kind of development i suppose, I now understand exactly what needs to happen in order for all of this to go properly. Can anybody point me towards finding the values within the game files that are responsible for shields, weapons, fire status, o2 levels, ect... and how to access those specific files/values. Some kind of unpack is required, i will then write my file to name the events (shield level, fire status) and send those event values out to SSE3. once the file is written ill have to repack the game, and all of the customization will be done in SSE3. I tried looking through .dat with slipstream, but i didnt see anything about data moving for game status, just xml, txt, and image files. So, Can anybody give me some info, or have a tutorial on how to Unpack the game files, find the Values within that i am going to use, then repack the game and test. [link] [comments] | ||

Finally got my first Stealth victory. Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:12 AM PDT I wish I had taken screenshots, but it was a brutal run even on Easy. This was with Stealth A. Started off kind of bad, encountered a few drone equipped ships in the first and second sector. Wasn't really finding any replacement weapons, relying entirely on the stock dual lasers and mini beam. Tactical approach was ruined in second sector by being locked into hazard right before the exit. Eventually picked up a Breach Bomb II which helped some. Picked up a Hull Smasher I from store, then found another along the way. Ran dual lasers and the 2x Hull I. Used dual lasers to punch down the shields then fired off both Hull I's, getting breaches helped out a lot. Picked up shields around sector 3. Picked up teleporter around sector 6 then promptly lost both of my Mantis to an escaping ship, ruining that plan and making the teleporter useless. Then, in sector 7, I got a Vulcan as an event reward. That changed everything in terms of strategy. Vulcan + 2x Hull Smasher I set me up pretty well. RFS was pretty easy with it. Hacking in Stage 1 hacked my useless teleporter thankfully. The odd part was that was only the second time I had encountered hacking on an enemy ship. All in all, I ended the run with full shields, cloak 3, engines 6, full weapons to power the 4 energy Vulcan and 2x Hull I at 2 energy a piece. No mind control, no hacking, no drone control. Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:11 AM PDT Hi, as the title suggests I was wondering if the community had any good advice on how to increase your score. I've unlocked all ships, generally play on normal or hard, but I've seem to hit a wall as I can generally only get score as high as 5500. Even on hard mode victories I still sometimes get scores in the mid 4000. I've seen threads discussing flag ship farming, but that was recommended if you wanted to get extremely high scores, which i'm not trying. I've also looked at a post mentioning which sectors are most valuable (civilian and rebel are the top two), so I've been focusing on traveling to those. Thank you for reading this post, pls help [link] [comments] |
