WAT. Lol. Just killed the hidden second rebel flagship and got fed cruiser.

That's hilarious. The entire point of flying engi was to unlock it on the end. Sector 5, even.

    Ship unlocking

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 07:47 AM PDT

    Hello, Federation citizens.

I'm not exactly new to the game, but rather more of a returning player after playing a bit.

I've been wanting to unlock all the A layouts of all ships (and from that, the B's and C's of course), and I'm not sure at which order I should do that.

The unlocked ships I already have are:

Kestrel A (Having trouble getting one of The United Federation and Tough Little Ship)

    Engi A & B

Zoltan A & B (I just did an easy, not-advanced run that got me to sector 8 and i'm enjoying the ion-beam combo)

    Rock A (No achievements).

I still haven't had an actual victory over the flagship, and I know that one more ship is required for the Lanius Cruiser.

    My questions are as following:

Which ship(s) and layout(s) should I aim to unlock for variety of play styles?

Is there a specific ship/layout that should be skipped entirely?

What's the best way to unlock the A layouts? The unlock events, or previous cruiser victory?

    Quick notes:

I'm aware of the practical guide in the sidebar, which helped a lot, especially in my previously mentioned Zoltan B run.

I don't have much experience in boarding. I know it is much more profitable than simply destroying the ship, but I've never personally tried it before.

    I've never tried flaks before.

Thank you for reading, any advice and tips would be appreciated. ☺
