Posted: 24 Oct 2019 06:00 PM PDT I know I've never been the best with deadlines. I know that "in the coming weeks" or "in the next few days" has wound up being multiple months multiple times. I could make all sorts of excuses about the big transitions in my life and the difficulty I've had with finding an end and an epilogue I felt good about - there were multiple sessions of just staring at chapter 31, asking myself if this was REALLY it or if something better was coming along. But you're not here for that. You're here for this: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10035862/29/Ghosts-of-the-Federation Again, thank you to everyone who has read it over the years, and for all the encouraging words. It was a pleasure to write this, but I don't know that I would have if I thought no one liked it. If you've been waiting to read it until it was all done, the time to read it is now. Enjoy. How Hard is This Game Supposed to Be? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:55 PM PDT I got this game about a week ago, mostly as a casual and relaxing game to fill my sci-fi niche. It is neither casual, nor relaxing. The first game I ever played was the furthest I've ever gotten, dying to the flagship. Since then I've played 14 more games, all on easy, and only ever reached the final sector once. Am I just absolute garbage at this game? How many tries should it take me to beat the game on easy? I understand that losing is a core part of the game, but I'm just not sure what my ratio should be. I've had the best luck so far with the Kestrel, since Zoltans and Engi can't fight and I enjoy having shields on my ship. Any tips for not dying as soon as enemies have level 2 shields? How frustrated should I be getting with this game? [link] [comments]
What do you guys think of the unlock system in this game? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 10:56 AM PDT Personally, I love the progression where you unlock ships by winning as other ships, because it rewards you for doing things you'd already be doing. I don't like the unlocks that require grinding for specific achievements though (like dropping to 1 HP then healing to full on the Kestrel). I used a program to unlock those, without unlocking the others. I'm curious if any of you actually enjoy the achievement grinding. [link] [comments]
