Opinion on possible game weakness? Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:50 PM PST First and foremost, this game is amazing. I've been completely addicted for about 3 weeks now. But, with any game that I love, I immediately start thinking of ways to improve it. I don't know why that is. Probably ADD, OCD, or a combination of the two. A couple simple things I've noticed; The developers seemed to undervalue the relative strength of weapons that require less power and have faster charge times. For example, weapons like the burst laser I that a couple ships come with require one power and still shoot twice and at a faster recharge than regular BL1's that require two power. This makes them ridiculously powerful. The same goes for stock weapons like the mini beam and laser charger, the advanced flak, etc.. The problem is, it seems like this trend continues all throughout the weapon hierarchy of the game. Two BL1's are MUCH better than a BL3 because of the same power requirement and nearly half the recharge, even with one less shot. A BL2 is probably more beneficial than a BL3 just by itself, when you consider half the power, 7 sec faster charge, and cheaper price. Considering conserving power and lower charge rates are SO important in this game, it seems to be a bit of an oversight in an incredible game. The ships with 3 weapon slots instead of 4 obviously change the math, but I wouldn't be surprised if the ratio is still a bit off. This unfortunately makes weapons like the Glave and the BL3 less viable to use, and instead results in a lot of stacking of a bunch of BL1's and 2's and other low powered lasers and the ol' pewpewpew strategy. Am I completely off base here? I only recently started playing so I may be completely missing something. Or maybe it evens out in ways I haven't accounted for. Just curious on people's thoughts on the matter. [link] [comments] | ||

Problems With Draining Battery? Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:56 AM PST I recently downloaded this game on my computer (HP) and I started playing FTL. By the end of an hour my battery went from 100% to 12%. This game drained my battery incredibly fast. Does this happen to anyone else? Is this common or is it something to do with the way I downloaded it. (I may or may not have torrented the game) [link] [comments] |
