I have recently got my first victory , i was on easy kersal A my loadout was zoltan sheild scrap recovery

arm my weapons were heavy lasermk1 flak mk1 pike beam and burst laser mk2

[i did the zolton cruiser unlock to get the zoltan sheild]

I got to sector 2 (Engi homeworlds), and happened upon the stasis pod quest. However, I had just seen that my sector layout was like 90% green sectors, and I would only ever be able to check out 1 red sector (on sector 6 or 7).

I desperatly needed a non-missile weapon, and I already had 3 augments (scrap recovery arm, rock plating and drone recovery arm with a combat drone which I was trying to use to save on missiles), so I chose to get the weapon instead. Unfortunately for me, the weapon turned out to be an Ion Bomb.

But I thought to myself: "there's just no way one of those 2 red sectors would happen to be Rock Homeworlds. Let's just hope I can salvage this run".

Luckily, I managed to get me a solid weapons system consisting of Pike Beam, Hull Smasher I and Heavy Laser I, as well as a Zoltan shield. Almost died a few times and had to wait for fuel 3 times, so I was happy. I did get the zoltan research station event though, which made me remember how I could've had the stasis pod right now.

Well wouldn't you know it, when I get to sector 7, guess which one it is? ROCK HOMEWORLDS. The regret knowing that the stasis pod was just for a useless Ion Bomb is immense.

Guess I'll wait for the next blue fucking moon to unlock that ship...
