This is the third screenshot on the FTL Steam store page. The more I look at it, the more questions I have about how they got themselves into this situation.

    Boarding Med/Clone bay ships

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 11:14 PM PST

I'm new, playing on easy and it seems viable to use ship weapons to bombard the shield room, killing any of their fixers. Then send 2 crew over to clean them up while still trying to use the ship weapons to hit the enemy.

In later sectors or harder modes I'd guess you need more. This really long guide seems to suggest kiting the 2 man crew around and teleporting 2 in more as a 4 strong crew: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266502670

I'd guess you need faster teleporters for that to be safe.

Is this what you guys do on ships with med or clone bays? I'm curious what other tactics you guys use to dispatch enemy crew safely. I see the game has a lot of play around this and some theories I have

    • Shield-ignore fire on the med bay instead of shields
    • Or if have the med gun / bio gun, use it to heal or kill crew directly
    • Breach weapon used on room you plan to lay heavy fire on (med or maybe shield room)?

    Scrap Recovery Arm

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:36 AM PST

Is the extra 10% worth it in the long run? I figure an average (when lucky) of a 20-40 scrap outcome when anything is earned on a tile. That is about 2-4 extra per event, which would mean after 10 events, it's paid for itself. If the scrap yields are higher (50-70), then that's just gravy. I almost always buy it if I see it in sector 1-3. What are your opinions?

    Suggest some new mods?

I have been playing with Captains Edition and the Endless Loot Addition for a while but I have not checked to see if anything new or different has come out. Especially anything with a good community standing. Any suggestions?
