    There I was convinced it was Bastion which had that superb voice over, music, and incredible storytelling through gameplay.

    I also thought there was a case for Abzu for being such a wonderfully tightly directed short experience fully capturing the various experiences to be found in the depths.

    And yet, in terms of hours spent, that all of those hours were so damn quality, that for all those hours I haven't got everything, that Advanced Edition was such an excellent expansion, that the music was so damn good, and that as a game it's just so well designed I think it really might be FTL for the last decade.

    I finally destroyed flagship after 40 hours of playing this game. Honestly i thought i would die in first phase because i had only 3 shield with no stealth, but apparently 3 drones and some ion are good enough to destroy flagship.

    Never give up! I went into this battle with only 2 hull strength and I thought there was no chance escape y’all since I didn’t have hacking or any good weapons but I still managed to pull it off

    Giving fuel, ever worth it?

    I enjoy pretending to be somewhat virtuous in my playthroughs and I often give fuel to distressed ships, but Ive found lately that it can really mess you up. If you give 3-4 fuel you can end up hugely disadvantaged as lots of ships wont drop fuel for loot and shops dont sell enough to make up the deficit. Add to all this the reward for giving away fuel can be quite paltry.

    In my most recent playthrough I couldnt get enough fuel from shops and ended up with some really unlucky drops. I ended up stuck at a sector beacon and died :(

    How do you guys feel about this prompt? I might give it the Giant Spider treatment unless Im really ahead.

    This has been a Crystal weekend. While playing this run on the laptop, on the iPad I also had 1 Crystal on a successful Slug B run, then another 1 Crystal on a successful Kestrel B run.

    And it's the best thing ever. They are the only band I know that sings about space-ish theme and they are amazing. And combining it with FTL is just awesome, try it yourself. Of course the OST of the game is great too, I'm not denying that.

    bug audio epic game store version

    Plop all :) i have a little problem with the epic game store version of the game , who run pretty well but with no music sound like i have the laser ound and the menu sound but not the music

    in the diag that say

    Audio Initialized!

    couldn't load music track = audio/music/bp_MUS_MantisEXPLORE.ogg

    At least 80 hours and I finally beat it thru not teleportation but sheer firepower (anyone know how to get the lost sector for crystal from here?)

    Shield/Engines Comparison

    I did an analysis on some different possible shield/engine upgrades to compare their performance against pure shield-absorbed projectiles or shield-absorbed projectiles combined with a 2-or-3 damage missile. My main focus was on shields level 4 + engines level 5 vs. shields level 6 + engines level 2~3. Ultimately the analysis didn't draw any strong conclusions. 6/3 upgrades were better against things like pure laser volleys, while hull damage taken for 4/5 vs. 6/3 against mixed volleys (e.g. lasers with a missile) was approximtely the same. On top of that, 6/3 upgrades were only 15 scrap more expensive than 4/5 given the way I calculated scrap costs (which I explain in the beginning). On the other hand, 4/5 has some nice advantages like diving more easily. Overall my only conclusion is that both upgrade paths are viable and will work, but one is probably better and I don't know which that is. My guess is 4/5. The diving potential is a big deal to me. You don't lose all evasion when a 2 damage missile hits your engines (unlike 4/2 and 6/2 unless you go 4/3 -> 6/3, while 4/2 -> 4/3 -> 4/4 -> 4/5 solves the problem quickly and has a smoother progression). Missiles and bombs are just plain annoying, maybe more annoying than lasers with hull breaches or fires, or more concentrated damage. But I'm just expressing some player intuitions. I don't really know which is better.

    Here is the full analysis, minus the program I wrote for the average damage calculations (but I have it if anyone is curious for any reason.) There could be mistakes but hopefully not. Most likely they would be simple arithmetic errors that could be fixed. I talked about going 6/2 -> 6/3 but 4/3 -> 6/3 might be more sensible. It doesn't change the nature of what I wrote really. It's lengthy so take a look if you're curious.

    I'd be curious to hear some people's thoughts on upgrade paths for shields/engines, or if there is any other issue that might be worth looking into (not just shields/engines).

    Just curious because it seems you can deploy 2 of them at once (with 2 crew).

    Also, what frame indicates it's over? I look at the doors and when it's more than 50% visible I assume it's over
