Hard mode 28 wins and 51 achievements in 28 runs progress thread Posted: 06 Feb 2020 11:23 AM PST When it was announced that Steam achievements will become a thing, I said that I will delete my profile and attempt to win with all the ships and unlock all the Steam achievements in 28 runs on Hard mode. Someone asked to be kept up to date with my progress. This is just a thread wherein I will update my progress. I have deleted my profile and will start the challenge now. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 10:17 PM PST Depending on which ship you choose, your options, allies, and story would be different. Kestrel or Federation would require you to attempt to find Engi and Zoltan allies, as well as liberate planets and shipyards to acquire Federation cruisers and extra Kestrels to bring more firepower to bear against the flagship and its armada. This would be the "default" story. Stealth would be similar to Kestrel/Federation, but more "behind the scenes." The mission is a top secret black-op. Wage covert war and inflict as much damage upon Rebel supplies and ships as possible, as well as to find the second flagship and destroy it. Survival is not likely, but the second flagship must be destroyed in order for the main Federation fleet to survive. Any questions, Snake? Engi or Zoltan would have you in a supporting role in the Federation. Investigating anomalies, helping civilians, testing and creating new gadgets, and fighting pirates while the main Federation fleet fights the Rebels. Only near the end will your ships fly alongside the main fleet, where your skills and support will be valuable. Rock or Mantis would require you to unite your people against the xenophobic Rebels. Either race you choose has you at first battling your own people, due to tribal infighting. After uniting the people, you move on to confront the invaders, hoping to destroy the Rebel flagship at any cost. Slug would be somewhat outside of the conflict, preferring to stick to piracy, trading, and smuggling deep in the nebulas. This still attracts the attention of the Rebels, who have the Slugs on their hitlist, though farther down than most others. Strike deals, bribe, break rules, and do what you can to take down that flagship... or have someone else do it for you. Lanius and Crystal would be wandering into a full-blown war and not know who to trust. The Federation seems to be the lesser evil, but stay cautious. The Lanius and Crystal see nothing to gain by this bloodshed, and find a sense of solidarity with the Rock and Mantis. One thing remains clear: The Rebels are xenophobes and their flagship poses an existential threat. It must be destroyed at any cost. [link] [comments]

Any strategies for unlocking the Mantis ship? Posted: 06 Feb 2020 12:28 PM PST I've been playing as The Kestrel B for like the past 6-7 hours and have only seen 1 Mantis Homeworld and it was early and I couldn't get a teleporter yet. [link] [comments]
FTL:CE Flagship backup drone system in third phase? Posted: 06 Feb 2020 01:53 PM PST What's different about the flagship in Captains Edition? I am playing on Normal and the Missile/Laser rooms are connected.. But in the 3rd phase, even with one crewman still alive, the ship turned off the oxygen, killing its own crewman, and then the AI took over. And THEN, I took out the drone control AND breached the hull, and it still repaired it. I thought breaching the hull of the broken drone system room should make it impossible to heal it, but somehow it managed. Is it cheating? [link] [comments] |
