Posted: 28 Jul 2020 01:41 PM PDT Has anyone ever seen dual lasers in stores or are they a starting ship and enemy ship specific weapon? Or is there a mod that might add them to stores? I would love to use 4 power for 8 shots every 10 seconds [link] [comments]
Wow... Ion Stunner did good work! Posted: 28 Jul 2020 04:05 PM PDT I'm playing Kestrel C on Hard and still have the initial Ion Stunner in Sector 6. I was shocked to find that it wasn't just a slower and strictly worse Ion Blast I! Hack shields (as you typically want to do anyway), make sure the shields take a point of damage somewhere in your volley, then leave the Stunner autofiring on the shields. The AI always prioritizes repairing shields, so whoever he sends will take stuns inside the shield room, and take forever to either repair them or break back out of the room after the doors relock. Do it on the typical Mantis ship that has a single Engi repairman and the rest of the crew can't repair jack for the rest of the fight. Mix that up with some Mind Control and it's pretty easy to asphyxiate for the crew kill. Granted that's pretty specific set of conditions and I'd probably prefer a Blast I most of the time, but it was still cool to see the Stunner do something useful. [link] [comments]
Do Rebel ships ever surrender? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 01:09 PM PDT Title. Been playing boarding ships and wondering if I should bother keeping the enemy crew alive to try milking surrender offers out of them. So far I don't think I've gotten any from Rebels. [link] [comments]
Hey guy thanks so much for lit zero warning of how the final sector works! Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:11 AM PDT Got all the way to the end of this game its my second attempt as i just started playing tonight. Went to one enemy controlled beacon after 2 hours of this shit to go after the flagship which jumped at the same time i did so i end up in a rebel controlled beacon. Got completely fucked sideways by an enemy much stronger than me as I've mostly been using evasion and teleported crew members to take over ships so i go to the map to jump away with multiple hull breaches. Only then do i find out that ALL the beacons around you get occupied by the enemy as well which the game doesn't bother telling you so i have no way to return anywhere for repair. After trying to jump away three times just trying to get time to repair and running into more enemies I'm basically dead. Two hours and i die cuz of something the game doesn't tell you and i had no way to predict. Thank you very much FTL developers! In what universe did you think making the final sector surrounding you with tough to beat enemies if you make any movements and again NO WARNING OF THIS HAPPENING was a good idea? Even Nethack doesn't go "oh hey you're at the astral plane! Here's a ring of unkillable enemies that appear with no warning that you have no way to get away from huhuhuhu". [link] [comments] |
