I'm bad at this game. IIRC it took me like 70 or 80 hours to beat it on Easy. Since then I've only played on Normal. I have 219 hours now - still haven't won at that difficulty.

But tonight, I was SO CLOSE. 4 shields, 1x Burst II, 2x Burst I, 1x starter missile launcher, 6 engines, 1x Defense Drone I, max auto evade, 6 crew.

1st stage, not bad. Power draining drone immediately attached to my weapons, annoying. Had to bail at one point for some quick repairs but flew back and stomped it.

2nd stage. Drone attached to shields, very annoying. Tough, but ended in Yellow health.

The 3rd stage...my heart was pounding. Did everything I could to take down its shields ASAP. Kept fucking missing. Got hit by a few missiles, red health, but my gold pilot did a pretty good dodging them for a while after that.

I finally got its shields down. The ship was hanging on by the skin of its teeth, but so was I. I was yelling "come on!" at this point. I hammered its missile launcher with everything, and I was sure I was about to win. I don't remember how my shields went down, but they were down. I was screaming for them to recharge as I only needed one more volley of weapons. Right before I could finish it off, it fucking blasted me with its lasers. My ship exploded. I stared at the screen, mouth agape.

AAAAAHHHHHHH.

I'm never going to do it.

I'm trying a new strategy of using my weapons to distract enemy crew from my boarders and then kill the crew with boarders and lasers hitting the same room.

I dont want to add content mods till i try every base ship in the game but I was wondering what ate some good visual only mods that you guys reccomend, i saw the rebel fleet pursuit marker one but what are some others?
