Brief testing on smart target timing Posted: 22 Nov 2020 01:04 PM PST It seems weapon smart targeting is decided as soon as the weapon animation begins, even though the "charge bar" (from sensor / hacking info) is still full. These are conclusive enough for my tastes / purposes, at least for now. Thought I might as well just dump the data here, rather than sit on it. # Conditions 150 rooms 13 systems 0 smart targets except weapons P(w if off) = 0.5(1/150) + 0.5(1/13) = 4.2 % P(w if on) = 0.5(1/150) + 0.25(1/13) + 0.25 = 27.3 % I'm assuming smart targeting falls back to a random system, but it could be a random room. These data seem to suggest random system. Power on = just leave the weapons powered Power off = just leave them off Normal = depower before weapon animates (charge bar is full) Animate = depower when weapon animates (charge bar is full) (Both cases, repower when charge resets) Count how many shots directly target weapons. # Ion Blast 1 34.6 % power on 18 / 52 5.8 % power off 3 / 52 33.0 % animate 17 / 52 11.5 % normal 6 / 52 Second try: 15.3 % animate 8 / 52 3.8 % normal 2 / 52 Total: animate 25 / 104 = 24.0% normal 8 / 104 = 7.7 % # Leto animate 16 / 52 normal 3 / 52 # Heavy 1 animate 13 / 52 normal 0 / 52 # Burst 2 animate 17 / 108 normal 9 / 108 Note: I mostly got two frames where the BL2 was green, before the charge reset -- so "animate" tests were mostly: pause when weapon is green, depower, next frame is still green, next frame charge is reset and re-power # Mini Beam animate 16 / 52 normal 2 / 52 [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 23 Nov 2020 02:03 AM PST Someone did a really nice study on this subreddit where they systematically measured scrap rewards for every sector type. Can anyone point me to it? It's the reason that I focus civilian and rebel sectors at this point and I would love to see the data again. [link] [comments] | ||
