    I realize that when I encounter certain events, I hold grudges from previous runs, and am essentially punishing future / alternate versions of the same enemies.

    Uhhh no thanks, I'll pass on that random weapon for 45 scrap, in fact, last time I think you stole my money, so instead you'll die by asphyxiation.

    Hacking 1 vs 2 Shields

    So previously whenever I would have 1 hacking vs 2 shields it would remove both shield bubbles no problem 100% of the time. I recently upgraded my computer to windows 10 (I really didn't want to but I didn't have a choice) and now I noticed that hacking 1 seems to fail to remove the 2nd bubble. I've seen other people have this issue so I was wondering if anyone encountered this and knows how to fix it. The only mods I use are The balance mod and fleet pursuit. Hacking 1 vs 2 shield bubbles is kind of significant around sectors 3-4 for some ships so I really would like to get the old reliable hack back if possible.

    Ordinary items coming up huge when you didn't expect it

    Just coming off a game in which the flagship first hacked my oxygen, it started sucking it dry but at first I didn't worry about it because I had a level two. Well, next thing I know a volley destroys one level of o2. You know how many turns it take for the flagship to vent your ship to zero oxygen with level 1 o2? Less than two turns. No crew to spare to go break the doors and fix the o2 without unmanning stuff and losing evasion bonus, but it was too late anyway o2 was at zero at that point. Who comes up huge? My boi engi nano med-bots! Got it quite randomly at sector 7 I think. Keeping everyone afloat at 10 hp while I frantically micro all the crew to take turns at the medbay. After a bunch of buttclenching razor thin moments I eventually get out of it with most of my crew safe. Do you have more stories like that?

    How do you deal with ships that have 4 shields?

    My last playthrough I had burst laser 2, burst laser 1, heavy laser, that single fast loading rocket and an attack drone that combined fired 8 shots at once when synchronized and they were woefully inadequate against 4 shields and a defense drone. Sometimes I'd have trouble even with ships that have 1 shield because out of those 8 shots only 1-3 would go through. My lvl6 engines didn't avoid nearly as many projectiles.
