Editing Burst Laser III for custom mod Posted: 31 Jul 2020 07:29 AM PDT I am trying to create my own simple mod for FTL that edits the burst laser 3 (the default laser on the Kestral) to have a chain cooldown effect, shoot 2 lasers per burst instead of 3, and require 3 power instead of 2. I have gone through the steps to edit the values of each of these fields, as well as adding a cooldown boost, for the burst laser 3 in the blueprint file and save it as blueprint.xml.append. I have a folder with the data file that contains the edited blueprint file, and I have saved the folder as a ftl file. I can add it to the slipstream mod folder and it shows up in the list of mods, but after patching it and running the game none of the changes I have made are coming into effect. Any help would be very appreciated. Edit: I am trying to change the Mark II laser, which in the code is referred to as Burst_laser_3, so I accidentally titled my post with the wrong weapon.
