    What do you imagine the Rebels and the Federation to be fighting about?

    To me, the biggest difference between the Rebels and the Federation is that the Rebels are only humans, whereas the Federation includes members from all different species. I think the Rebels are made up of humans who see non-humans as unintelligent and a waste of resources, and therefore want to exterminate them. The Rebels successfully wiped out dozens of species and drove almost all Crystals into hiding. It's up to the last remaining 7 alien species and their human comrades to save the galaxy from the genocide. So it's basically WW2 in space.

    Had an iTunes gift card, decided to get FTL for iPad, first run flag ship defeat on medium with six total achievements earned and two ships unlocked, should I even play FTL on my laptop again?

    Living the dream w/Stealth B in Hard

    Hard Stealth B. Last store in Sector 7, a couple hops from the exit. I have the Glaive Beam (of course) and already have a Pre-Igniter. There's a Vulcan for sale. Current loadout is Glaive + BL1 + Heavy for 7 power. I have the scrap to buy the Vulcan and Mind Control with ~100 scrap left over. Also have L3 Hacking, L3 Cloaking, L6 Shields, L4 Engines so far. Reactor and other systems are solid.

    I'm not certain that Glaive + Vulcan is actually stronger than what I have against anything but the RFS? And it's not like I'm worried about the flagship. But still... I should just do this, right? Even if the Vulcan sits in cargo until the RFS fight? In the hundreds of hours I've played FTL, I don't think I've ever actually fired a Vulcan. I can only remember even finding one a couple of times.

    Of course I'm going out of town and leaving in an hour. So I think I'll just pick this up when I get back and see what people think.
