Mantis A - Normal Difficulty - Need Help!!

I don't think I've made it past the 2nd sector with this ship on normal. I've had such bad luck, the Small Bomb is slow, the basic laser is useless. My boarding crew can't do anything against the auto-scouts.

I've tried upgrading my weapons so I can use both at once but that won't get you far in the 2nd sector. I've tried upgrading my teleporter so I can board auto-scouts and get back in time.

It feels like this should have had a cloning bay or better starting laser to be fair.

Would love to hear a step-by-step guide from someone to get through the first few sectors. I suspect once you get a decent weapon and a few other upgrades it gets easier.
