Help! Glitch erased my hangar but not my achievements

Per the title... Help! I finished a game the other day and came 'back' to an almost empty hangar! Oddly my achievements are intact, but the only ships available are the Kestrel and a few others. There is a crash report from a few days ago but I'm no geek and can't decipher anything useful from it. I looked at forums that suggested finding my prof.sav file and restoring a previous version, but my prof.sav file says there are no previous versions. My computer isn't backed up (that I know of) so I can't turn back the clock, and I wanted to see if there are any 'fixes' before using a third-party editor or starting over from scratch. Advice?
