I really need to find a store that has a missile launcher...
Just played my first game ever, and lost within 5 minutes on Easy. XD
They've got me surrounded!
Hate Slugs, didnt have much choice here lol (side note: I went home world route and amazingly got to the exit in 6 jumps without a single hostile encounter & 1 good charitable Distress encounter)
Anyone else having issues registering on Subset Games forum?
Should I use all flak or mix in the BL2?
Favorite mods?
Sector 3: free Pre-Ign, Halberd, Flak I and Charge II...
44 hours in and I finally get my first victory! Ironically, also got the no drone achievement.

Anyone know how this works? I've downloaded it and I have the game through EPIC but I'm unable to locate this data.dat file and in the root directory for FTL it's not even there. Neither is it in the file in Documents.

What happened?

FTL is one of my favorite games, ever. I played it for almost two years, and have over 265 runs in vanilla, and around another 30 in Captains Edition. However, I stopped playing in mid 2019, and moved on to other games. I thought the game was over, I memorized basically everything in vanilla, and beat captains edition enough it felt easy. Now, I came to this subreddit to see how the game is doing, and was very surprised. What's hyperspace? is it a new mod loader? what happened to CE? I expected to see a lot about it, but I only found a reference to show how a (new?) mod called multiverse was better. Was I living under a rock and just didn't know about this stuff? or has a lot happened since I left?

The problem with the mind control system

Imagine this situation:
You are being boarded, your crew tries it's best to repel the threat. Then the enemy ship uses it's mind control on one of your crewmates right in the middle of the fight. No worries, you have a fully charged mind control too, so you use it on the controlled crewmate to snap them out of it. But alas, the game decided to screw you, and now you control an enemy boarder instead. Because of this chaos, some of your crewmates die. That's exactly how you planned it, right?

I honestly have no idea why we aren't able to use the mind control on one particular crewmate and instead have to use it on the whole room in hopes that it hits. It's not like it can miss like some Flak cannon and we can't actually control the enemy crewmate, so why aren't we able to choose who gets controlled? It's also a bit broken when enemies use it, because they can take control of your crew even when you're cloaked, which is impossible.

Edit: Wish that it would be considered by the devs behind the Multiverse modification, to make a priority that your controlled crew always comes before enemy crew when you use the mind control.
